The factory
I ask them to take a poem
and hold it up to the light
like a color slide
or press an ear against its hive.
I say drop a mouse into a poem
and watch him probe his way out,
or walk inside the poem’s room
and feel the walls for a light switch.
I want them to waterski
across the surface of a poem
waving at the author’s name on the shore.
But all they want to do
is tie the poem to a chair with rope
and torture a confession out of it.
They begin beating it with a hose
to find out what it really means.
The AI does not understand poems. There will be a seriers of challenges to analyze the following poem by Billy Collins. The engenieers that built these doors used it to construct several locks.
2. Are you sure you understood this poem?
If you are able to answer the questions, the door will open for you!
You got out of the first door ... ¡congratulations! Now, for the next one...
This machine is not connected to the AI. But it needs to know you're human. To prove it, upload your video explaining the Literary Elements of the poem. Once you have it, click on the keypad.
You are almost there! Only two doors to go. If you are really a human, answer this: what are the literary elements of the poem?
Well done! To prove you are truy human, discuss how we ought to approach poetry as readers. What was YOUR interpretation of the poem?
