Isolation Valves & Bypass The isolation valves lets isolate different parts of the water circuit. The bypass loop allow the heat pump to isolate from the system for testing purposes.

Automatic Air Venting AAV is used to help get air out of the water circuit. Must be installed at the highest points within the system. We highly recommend the use of an isolation valve below the AAV this is for easy of maintenance.

Strainer The strainer is minimum level of filtration to protect the plate heat exchanger within the heatpump. This is a 40 mesh strainer that comes with the unit as standard.

Pressure Relief Valve Pressure relief valves (safety relief valves) are designed to open at a pre-set pressure and discharge fluid until pressure drops to acceptable levels.

Commissioning set The commissioning set is required as a measuring and adjustment point of water flow.

Differential Pressure Switch This is a safety device to ensure that if water flow was to stop the heatpump would immediately stop running. Mitsubishi Electric preferred method of protection (15 – 250 mbar)

Isolation Valves & Bypass The isolation valves lets isolate different parts of the water circuit. The bypass loop allow the heat pump to isolate from the system for testing purposes. This is also helpful when power flushing the system beforehand.

Drain point For maintenance purposes so that when the system is isolated from the water circuit via the isolation valve the system can be drained down.

Strainer A 40 mesh strainer comes with the CAHV unit. This is the minimum level of required filtration for the system. It is required to protect the heat pump plate heat exchangers.

Commissioning set The commissioning set is required as a measuring and adjustment point of water flow.

Air dirt separator Removes both air and dirt particles, including ferrous particles permanently.

Dosing point This is to allow for the water to be treated with anti-freeze, biocides and inhibitors.

Expansion vessel The vessel is partially filled with air, which absorbs excess water pressure caused by thermal expansion.

Temperature sensor This is the common temperature sensing point for the entire cascade heatpump system.

Water pumps Water pumps need to be sized to ensure the flow rate for heatpumps.
