How to use it?

Principal verb

The verb to be will appear only when it is the verb that gives meaning to the sentence.

Verb to be can be used in two ways:

Auxiliar verb

You can use the verb to be as an auxiliary verb in the continuous verb tenses accompanied by a verb in the gerund or past participle.

When to use it?

Mention a location

Describe something or somebody

Talk about the weather

Talking about someone's mood
