About me

British native. 7th year as District EL Coach, 4th as District Coach to building based EL coaches. 7 years as EL lead teacher and 2 years teaching social studies at Croft Middle School. Teacher of the Year 2017. Experience living and teaching in Japan, Mexico, S. Korea & Venezuela for nine years. Admin license from Bethel University. MAT and EL from Trevecca University. Former IELTS examiner. Cambridge CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults). B.Sc. Hons Geography from University of Plymouth, England.

District Roles

I provide building based middle and high school EL coaches guidance, support, and coaching so that they feel fully equipped to build capacity around ELs in their schools focusing on EL best practices and integrating content and language.

EL Office PD Pathways committee member. A.I. Taskforce Member. Social Studies/EL representative for district.

Skills

Spanish and Japanese proficiency. Experience living in six countries on four continents. Strong presenter skills: three consecutive years presenting at WIDA national conference (2022, 2023 & 2024). Thinking Maps Trainer (2023)
