Couse Structure for Create your video lecture

Your course is composed of 3 modules:

video planning

Introduction to best practices in video planning deriving from instructional theory.

scripting & storyboarding

A deep dive into the process of writing a script for an educational video and select audio-visual content to accompany the text.

recording online

How to approach the recording process, and select the more appropriate online tool for recording video lectures.

  • In this first module, learners will encounter theories of cognitive load, Richard Mayer's principles of multimedia learning and the content chunking.
  • Learners will be asked to select a topic for their video lecture

  • This second module will instruct learners on the process of getting the content onto the page and carefully selecting supporting materials to complement the spoken words.
  • Learners will continue working on their own idea for a video lecture and be asked to script and storyboard it.

  • This third module will guide learners through the selection of online tools for recording video lectures
  • Building on the planning work of modules 1 and 2, learners will go on to record their first video lecture
