The Six Principles of Androgony

The Role of Learner:In andragogy, the learner is self-directed and an active participant in their own learning process. In pedagogy, the learner is a dependent recipient of knowledge

Two strategies to egage adult learners are incorporating problem-based learning and incorporating technology.

Differences between Andragogy and Pedogogy:1. Adragogy-helping adults learn Pedogogy-helping children learn 2. Adragogy-self-directed Pedagogy-not self-directed 3. Adragogy-adults have control over what they learn Pedagogy-childeren told what they have to learn.

Adragogy-learner centered, emphasizes the active involvement of adult learners in that they are 100 percent responsible for their learning, have control over what they learn, real life issuesPedagogy-teacher-centered and focuses on the knowledge from teacher to student, subject-centered, learn to get good grades
