There is no Time Limit on the ACCUPLACER Placement Test
Average Test Times are:
- ELL Only: 150 minutes
- Math Only: 80 minutes
- Both English & Math: 230 minutes
These times do not include checking into or out of the center, or getting your scores. We recommend allocating for an extra 30 minutes when booking your appointment.
Getting to Campus
For in Person Testing
Arnold : The Testing Center is in the Student Union Building (SUN 240) on East Campus, Second Floor Arundel Mills: The Arundel Mills Location is a single building, located near the Arundel Mills Mall. The Testing center is in Room 112 Glen Burnie: The Glen Burnie Town Center Location will be closing on June 7th, 2025 for an extended period of time for building renovations.

Fort Meade Education & Resiliency Center
In-person ACCUPLACER testing is available at the Fort Meade Education & Resiliency Center.

This service is available for active duty military and their dependents. Students interested in testing at Ft. Meade should reach out to Brandon Haight at blhaight@aacc.edu to schedule their test.
Accomodations
In order to recieve testing accomodations at AACC you must have a plan in place with Disability Support Services (DSS) at AACC
Please remember that the ACCUPLACER test is not timed, and that the testing takes place online on the computer for all test takers. Students requiring additional accommodations need to apply each semester through Disability Support Services (DSS). DSS can provide detailed information on how to receive services and additional support provided at Anne Arundel Community College.

Appointment to Test
Appointments are not required for ACCUPLACER - but are strongly encouraged. You will be able to make an appointment through this workshop once you have viewed all required modules and taken the review quizzes.
When Making Your Appointment be sure to choose "English as a Second Language" as your test type, If you are taking the test for both English and Math Placement, you will need to make two appointments, 1) English as a Second Language 2) Math only (QAS/AAF)
Studying
Students who prepare, tend to be more satisfied with their placement results.
You have limited attempts at the ACCUPLACER Test, students are permitted two attempts for English, and only one attempt for Math Placement at AACC. The ACCUPLACER Practice Tests are a free and accurate way to prepare for your test.
Photo ID Required
Please have a picture ID ready when you come to take your exam. Testing staff will not administer an exam without ID. Examples of acceptable photo ID's include
- Driver’s license
- State-issued photo ID
- Passport
- Military ID
- Permanent Resident Card (green card)
A Physical ID Is Required, photographs of your ID Card will not be accepted. We cannot accept digital AACC Student ID Cards for Testing
