It is very important to eat well and exercise, starting at a young age. Our best role models are our parents or the people we live with. If parents have a positive influence, we will be more likely to grow up to be healthy adults. Habits can be inherited. They can be good or bad. If our parents teach us healthy habits at an early age, it will prevent future illnesses and lead to healthier generations.

Healthy Children

Eating healthy meals as children helps to form good habits. Good food provides energy and vitality, which helps us be more active while playing sports or playing with our friends. Eating right is essential during childhood, so we can grow, reach a healthy weight, and be able to concentrate better in school. We should eat fish, meat, milk, fruit, and vegetables more often.

Staying active is also important for good health. Today we have access to more technology than ever before. Constantly playing with video games, computers, and other games makes us inactive, and the number of overweight children is increasing like no other time in history. Overweight children are at risk of developing an illness called diabetes.

Some good healthy habits include getting enough sleep, keeping our body clean by brushing our teeth three times a day, washing our hands before every meal and after going to the restroom, showering every day, keeping our fingernails clean and trimmed, exercising at least 30 minutes a day, and eating right.

Healthy Children

4. Story - part II

If we do these things daily, we will have good habits for life. Remember, a healthy child is a happy child!
