Virginia Woolf is now accepted as an extremely important literary figure and an early feminist.

However, her work wasn't embraced or widely anthologized until nearly 50 years after her novels were published. Here are 5 reasons why Woolf should be one of your feminist icons:

• She lived in a time when she was granted few rights, but turned the setback into a strength.

Nació en Francia en 1798 y en 1817 se convirtió en discípulo de Henri Saint Simon de quien aprendió las bases de lo que sería la filosofía positiva. En 1826 se independizó de su maestro y planeó un curso de setenta y dos lecciones sobre su filosofía, atrayendo a gran cantidad de personas, quienes se encargaron a su vez de difundir lo que sería después el positivismo. Tuvo una personalidad atormentada e insegura, tratando de dar respuestas a lo que sucedía en su país, lo cual extendió a toda la sociedad en general, a ese estudio le llamó Sociología
