Jamal's Story My hometown is Ed Elfursan in South Darfur State. When I was 4 years old, my family had to flee due to a combination of inter-communal violence and terrible flooding. We spent years in Kalma IDP camp, enduring hardship and uncertainty. However, when peace and stability began to emerge, at 15 years old, I decided it was time to return home. I am determined to rebuild my life, including getting an education. In the camp I have been advocating for the rights and well-being of youth in my community and want to continue focusing on this.
