Be going to

We use this form to talk about:

  • General Plans and intentions
  • Things we have already decided to do in the future

Will/Won't

We use this form to talk about:

  • General predictions based on our opinion
  • Decisions we have made at the moment of speaking
  • Future Facts
I think cellphones will dissapear in 20 years.

Present Continuous

We use this form to talk about:

  • Fixed future arrangements (appoinments, plans that have been confirmed)
We're seeing Ed Sheeran in concert next Sunday.

Present Simple

We use this form:

  • to talk about Timetables and Schedule events
  • With expressions like when, as soon as, by the time, until, after and before
Our train gets in at 7:15 am. So, we should leave home early.

Future Continuous

We use this form to talk about:

  • Activities in progress at a particular time in the future
At this time next Monday, I'll be taking the FCE.

Future Perfect Simple

We use this form:

  • to talk about activities that will be finishedby a certain time in the future

Future Perfect Continuous
