Ohm's law

Ohm’s law states that the voltage across a conductor is directly proportional to the current flowing through it, provided all physical conditions and temperatures remain constant.

Resistance in series

When resistors are connected in series, the current through each resistor is the same, the total voltage across all the resistors is equal to the sum of the voltages across each resistor.

Resistance in parallel

When resistors are connected in parallel, the supply current is equal to the sum of the currents through each resistor. The currents in the branches of a parallel circuit add up to the supply current.
