Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria, born December 1, 1949 in El Tablazo, Colombia, was the second of seven children. From elementary school, he demonstrated skill, cunning, and leadership. Together with his cousin, Gustavo Gaviria Rivero, they carried out small "businesses" while they studied.
