SECOND CONDITIONAL
If + Past Simple (condition) + would + infinitive (result)Example: If I didn't understand the explanation, I would ask my teacher
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND CONDITIONAL?
Let's check the structure first:
If + present simple (condition) + will + infinitive (result)
If + past simple (condition) + would + infinitive (result)
Now let's see when we have to use each one:
Realistic, probable conditions If I study hard, I will pass my exams
Imaginary or hypothetical conditions If I had a car, I would go this weekend to the countryside.
Let's imagine!
If I had a million dollars...
Second conditional is used for hypothetical situations. Let's ask crazy questions!
If you won the lottery, what would you do?
It's time to practice!
