Intervention plan.

A simple explanation on my intervention plan.

Intervention plan.

The idea of this intervention plan is to help and support Noah with the maths topics that he is struggling on. Noah enjoys going outside, running and practical maths lessons and he is struggling with accuracry with numeracy (addition, subtraction, place value and number bonds). The teaching assistants role is to help Noah develop his skills in his area by creating fun interventions sessions based on his interests and the things hes struggling with. they should discuss some ideas with other practitioners to find the best way to help noah develop his numeracy skills. Some resources that they can use are games like hit the button (a game with quick fire questions on number bonds, times tables and doubling and halving) and apps like TT rockstars which have quizzes on different topics that noah can complete to help track his progress in intervention. The intended outcome of this intervention plan is to make sure noah not only feels more confident in these areas of maths but also to get him up to a similar level as his classmates.

Activity plan.

Summary on my activity plan.

Activity plan.

This activity plan is being used to find a fun way for Noah to help him develop his skills in addition, subtraction, place value and number bonds whilst involving his interests to keep it engaging. The activity i have chosen is life sized snakes and ladders (using sticks for ladders, rope for snakes and foam numbers for the squares). this activity can be done on the playground or in the forest school area of Noah's school. The ieda of the game is for Noah to answer questions to be bale to move fprward in the game. If he gets it right, he gets a sticker and then gets to take another turn. However if he gets it wrong, he has to move back 2 spaces and the teaching assistant will help explain to hi the correct way of getting he answer. This way is better than the teaching assistant helping him answer it because he is more likely to listen to his friends as he feels more comortable around them. It is important that the activity links back to the National Curriculum because you need to make sure that the questions are sutied to the key stage and year group that Noah is in at school.

How does the activity plan support the INtervention plan.

How does the activity plan support the INtervention plan.

The idea of the activity plan is to support Noah in the things that he is learning in intervention. In this case, its addition, subtraction, place value and number bonds. This sctivty supports Noahs learning because the way that you progress on the game is by answering questions based on the areas of msths that he is having intervention for. It also allows the teaching assistant to see Noahs progress throughout the intervention because it can be played before he starts intervention to see how far behind he is and then every few weeks to see how he is getting on. It is also important to make sure that Noah is enjoying the activity because if he is not engaging very well, he may not try his hardest on the questions making it hard for the teaching assistant to see the progress that hes making. \a way to make an activity mor interesting and engaging for a child is to include their interests (In this case, Noah's interests are outdoor space and practical maths lessons.

how i could improve my activity plan.

The feedback i recieved during the peer discussion.

How i could improve my Activity plan.

During the peer discussion, i found that i needed to link my activty back to the national curriculum a bit more to help explain how this activity is helping Noah in the areas of maths that he is struggling with.it is also important beacuse you need to make sure the questions you are givng him are a part of the key stage and year group that noah is in. I also found that i needed to find a better way of helping noah during the game when he gets a questions wrong. One way i could do this by giving him another chance to allow him more time to think about how to answer the question. I could also allow a friend to help Noah figure out how to correctly answer the question without telling him the answer. I also added that once the teaching assistant has observed Noah playing this game, she can change the intervention plan and the activity plan accordingly to better suit the areas that he is still struggling with instead of still working on areas that he now feels confident on.

Thank you!
