Write a one page story
Based on the project rubric, write a one page story in Google Docs, showing us, not telling us about your character. Refer to the exemplar on Handout 22A in your Workbooks. Observe how Mayor McQuitter is described through her actions.
Create a Comic Strip
Create a Comic Strip including the character you created on your graphic organizer. Norton Juster uses wordplay to make The Phantom Tollbooth both interesting and confusing through humor. Through your comic strip, showcase your character by showing your classmates your character, not just telling us about your character. We can learn a lot about your character through their actions.
Create a Poster
Create a poster of your character interacting with Milo, Tock, and the Humbug. Include information as if it were a book/movie poster to get us interested in learning more about your character. You may do this on large construction paper or on a digital poster platform of your choice such as Canva or Adobe Express.
Write and Perform a Skit
Write a skit and perform a 2-4 minute skit that shows what your character is like. Your character must interact with Milo, Tock, and the Humbug. Please create a video with the camera app on your iPad or you may use Flip for some added effects!
Create a SnapChat Story
Create a bio for the character you created, then create a SnapChat Story to open the window into the life of your character so we can get to know him/her through their actions and descriptions in your story.
Develop a Book Jacket
A book jacket can get a reader interested in a story by telling us about a character.
Illustrate a book jacket highlighting the character you created. The book jacket will need to show us what your character in like through their actions.
Create a Blog
Using the details about the character you created in your graphic organizer, write a blog about an event that occured between Milo, Tock, the Humbug and your character. This can be from your character, Milo, or a narrator's point of view. Make sure you show what your character is like, not just tell us in a description.
