The Way It Was

In the Pleistocene Epoch, while there were animals then that we now share the world with today, there were also many that we missed out on. Some of those animals were mammoths, sloths, saber tooth cats, short faced bears, megalodons, and more. The human spieces also evolved over this time span.

During this time the earth was full of massive ice glaciers that covered up alot of the land, even becoming bridges for natural pieces of land. The increase of ice and decrease of water levels slowed down the precipitation process, because of this there was a lot less water making the earth a much dryer and colder place than than it is today.

Major Event

The most major event to mark the Pleistocene Epoch would have to be the extinction of the many species that thrived during this time span. To this day we still don't know the exact reason as to what caused the Pleistocene extinction. However, there are many different ideas as to what caused this, some of these consist of over hunting by humans, disease, and major tempurature changes(warming) which would cause change/decrease in food and natural resources which these species recently relied on.
