"There + be" is a grammatical structure used for express the idea that something exists or doesn't it.

On this unit, we'll learn how to use 'there' followed by the verb "be" to refer about the things around us.

'There' is a word, which individually, has no particular meaning but that serves a grammatical purpose. So, it can be used as a pronoun, a noun, an adjective, an adverb, or an interjection.
