Meeting between Syrian minister and Iraqi prime minister.

On June 4, the Syrian minister Faisal al-Miqdad traveled to Baghdad and met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani, where the Iraqi minister mentioned the importance of the interconnection between Syria´s and Iraq ́s security.

For his part, the Syrian minister admitted Syria´s interest in sharing Iraq´s knowledge about counter terrorism and drug trafficking. The meeting ended with the invitation of the Syrian minister to the Iraqi prime minister for visiting Damasco.

The Iraqi army kills some ISIS´s militants.

On June 2, the Iraqi anti-terrorism forces killed three ISIS militants during an ambush operation in Kirkuk province. The following day, Iraqi aircrafts carried out two airstrikes to ISIS militants in Himrin mountains, in Dilaya, in this operation seven ISIS fighters died

On June 7, the Defense Ministry said that a joint force of army and pro-government tribal fighters eliminated four ISIS militants, among them a top ISIS member, in Tarmiyah district, the Defense Ministry added that it is a great victory in the terrorism fight.

Voluntary output cuts in oil production until 2024

On June 4, Iraq's oil minister, Hayan Andul-Ghani, said that Iraq will extend voluntary output cuts of 211,000 barrels per day after his participation in OPEC´s meetings, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. The minister explained that these measures are for help with challenges facing the global oil market.
