VERB + PREPOSITION + GERUND

She talked about going to space.

Verbs in this structure express opinion or comment on an activity. The gerund expresses an activity in a general way and it´s followed by a preposition, which can be completed with a gerund or gerund clause ("gerund phrase").

ADJECTIVES + PREPOSITION + GERUND

He is sorry for being late.

Gerunds can also be the object of a preposition after an adjective, but there are no grammatical rules for which preposition is used with which adjective.
