INTRODUCTION
An automobile or car is a self-propelled mechanical vehicle for the transport of people, generally with four wheels and capacity between one and nine seats. The "front" wheels can be moved to the sides to allow turning and cornering.
ABOUT CARS
The cars, also called auto, car or car in some Latin American countries; It is a wheeled motorized vehicle used for transportation. Most car definitions refer to vehicles that travel primarily on highways, with a capacity of one to eight people, have four tires, and primarily transport people rather than goods.
Currently, most cars are still powered by internal combustion engines, although hybrid and electric cars are gaining more and more markets, as an attempt to mitigate the production of greenhouse gases.
THE HISTORY
The history of the automotive industry, strictly speaking, begins in the 17th century. The word derives from the Greek αὐτός autós, "to himself", and from the Latin mobilis, "that moves", especially to distinguish between motor vehicles and those drawn by animals. Many different types of these self-propelled vehicles were known through the ages.
One way to classify them would be the method used for propulsion; from this point of view, the most significant were the steam powered ones of the 18th century.
The first steam powered vehicle (1769) was the Fardier, created by Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot 6. He is credited with building the first large-scale self-propelled mechanical vehicle or car around 1769; created a steam tricycle7. He also built two steam tractors for the French army, one of which is kept at the French National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts7. However, his inventions were limited by problems of water supply and maintenance of steam pressure8.
FUEL TYPES
Currently, the most widely used fuels to power automobile engines are some products derived from petroleum and natural gas, such as gasoline, diesel, liquefied petroleum gases (butane and propane), vehicular natural gas, or compressed natural gas. Outside the scope of passenger cars, other fuels are used to power vehicles of other means of transport, such as fuel oil in some ships or kerosene in air transport turbines.
In some countries, biofuels such as bioethanol or biodiesel are also used. The main producers of bioethanol are the United States and Brazil, followed at a distance by the European Union, China and Canada,11 generally from the fermentation of sugar from agricultural products such as corn, sugar cane, beets or cereals such as wheat or barley. . Biodiesel is produced mainly by the European Union and the United States,12 for the most part from the esterification and transesterification of oils from oleaginous plants, used or unused, such as sunflower, palm or soybean.
