Date: 5 June 2023 Location: "Ruta Saludable" (healthy route) in Alovera, Guadalajara, Spain Participants: 90 students, in 2 rounds, and 2 teachers Grade: 7th grade

We start our hike!!! First, we read the characteristics of the route... We must get ready for what's to come!

Field notes Our science teacher explained this notebook and students started to observe and analyse their surroundings to fill it in!

We use magnifying glasses to have a closer look at the insects found on our way!

Overcoming obstacles Some plants and insects were difficult to analyse... But we did it!!!

Working hard With our spirit of observation, we completed our field notes, also taking into account the information pannels found on the way! They were so useful!

Conclusion All in all, the hiking activity was great!!! We had a great time and we learned a lot about plants and insects at the same time that we enjoyed physical activity

Date: 13 June 2023 Location: Forest near our school in Yalova, Turkey Participants: 10 students and 2 teachers (science and English), in two groups Grade: 7th grade

Trekking We went to the forest which was near our school. This location is also used as trekking route in our area. The wheather was warm and cloudy.

Preparing the route Before we started to walk, we had a big breakfast with egg, cheese, olive, bread, jam and butter in the school canteen. We walked about 2-3 km and it took 50 minutes.

Field Notes We found 6 different species of insects, such as ant, bee, moth, butterfly, spider, and beetle.

Conclusion This activity was very aducative. We felt happy, fresh and healthy!

Date: 7 June 2023 Location: Bike ride to Lake Kalote (Klaipeda, Lithuania) Participants: 24 students, 4 parents and 1 teacher Grade: 3B

TasksAfter walking 7 km to Lake Kalote, they developed camping and survival skills: the boys set up the tent, the girls prepared the dinner table.

Field NotesAfter getting stronger, they participated in fun relay races and observed nature and insects. Later, they described the insects filling in their field notes

The location The beach is very close to the school. We often go there because it is part of our town and we enjoy discovering what great surprises the sea always offers.

Our tasks We walked into the sand, collecting shells, organic and inorganic materials. Then, we went into the water and, provided with a sieve, we analyzed the sand.

What we found Unfortunately, we also found some microplastics, but mainly shells. The shell, that serves to protect some species of invertebrates (organisms that have no skeleton), is made of calcium carbonate and is created by the same mollusks that inhabit them.

Field notes We touched some Posidonia as well. When it dries, it is like a spongy ball. Posidonia is an aquatic plant of the Mediterranean Sea. We included all this info in our field notes. When we went back to school, we also inserted all our observations in a multimedia elaboration.

Emotions Walking into the sand and going into the water helps us to feel free!!!

Conclusion It was a great da, we discovered and learned some aspects of the marine environment, and this helped us to understand how fragile it is and how it needs to be respected.

Preparing the route Before going to the park, everyone served a snack, a fruit, a sandwich, a cake. We discussed the walk we were going to take.

Our hike We walked 2-3 km. The activity lasted for about an hour. We found beetles, ants, bees, snails and earthworms.

Conclusion The children were extremely excited about the activity in the park. Joy, cheerfulness, knowledge, friendship were the key words of the activity.
