It is a province in southern Spain, located in Andalusia. Its population is around 330,000 inhabitants and it is the third largest and most populous city in Andalusia. Spain is a country whose main activity is tourism and Cordoba is the ninth most touristic city in Spain. Its jewelry industry has been very important since the S XV. Currently, is the third exporter of jewelry nationwide. Other important sectors: agriculture and commerce.

The climate of Córdoba is Mediterranean, with mild winters and very hot summers. The minimum temperatures in winter are 5ºC and the maximum are 17ºC, and in summer the maximum reaches 40ºC and the minimum 18ºC. The best time to travel to Cordoba is in spring and autumn.

Located on the outskirts of Cordoba, Medina Azahara is an impressive archaeological site that was once a palatial city built in the 10th century. It served as the seat of the Caliphate of Cordoba and showcases Islamic architecture and beautiful gardens.

It is a fortified palace that combines Mudéjar, Gothic, and Renaissance architectural elements. Built in the 14th century, it served as a residence for the Christian kings during the period of the Reconquista. The palace features beautiful gardens, patios, and towers.

Originally built as a mosque in the 8th century, it was later converted into a cathedral. It showcases a unique blend of Moorish and Christian architectural styles, with its stunning horseshoe arches and a Renaissance-style cathedral nave at its center.

Is a significant religious celebration in Cordoba. Processions take place throughout the city, accompanied by music and Nazarenes dressed in tunics and conical headwear, creating a solemn and emotional atmosphere.

It is celebrated in May and consists of the opening of the beautiful Cordovan patios to the public. The patios are decorated with a variety of plants and flowers, and the owners compete for the prize for the most beautiful patio.

In May, Cordoba celebrates the Cruces de Mayo, a popular festival in which the streets and squares are adorned with crosses made with flowers and other decorative elements. Competitions are organized to choose the most beautiful cross.

It takes place at the end of May or beginning of June and is one of the most important fairs in Andalusia. For a week, the fairground is filled with stands, where Cordobans and visitors enjoy music, dances, food and typical drink.
