What is CLASSISM? How do you identify?

Classism is defined as prejudice and discrimination based on belonging or not to certain social classes. This can be identified in situations such as when one person treats another person contemptuosly because of their status or because they have a lower net worth.

In general...

in general, a classist assumes his belonging to one class or another and acts accordingly to benefit from the interests of those who are of the same class and to the detriment of those who do not belong to it. Class discrimination is possible because society is supposed to be separated into social classes.

How does it affect those who suffer from it?

People whohave suffered this type of violence, whether on a daily basis or in very marked events in their lives, tend to have less vitality, experience feelings of heaviness and graeter psychological stress

How to help avoid classism?

If you witness a frien or family member expressing classist or discriminationatory ideas, speak to them if you feel safe to do so. Point out that what they are saying is classist and remind them that everyone hsd the right to dignity.

Classist behaviors do not contribute anything to our society, let's avoid behaving in ways that affect other people, we all deserve respect.
