Tell your table buddy something about you with a statement that has the word "Something" Ex. "Eating is something I like to do!"
Tell your table buddy something about you with a statement that has the word "New" Ex. "I got a new Xbox this weekend."

Introduction
Counter Examples
It is an example of something that disproves a proposition or theory
Start
Learning situation // Context
Counter Examples
- Goal: Prove the teacher wrong.
Statement forms:
“All ______s are _______” or “No ______s are _______.”
“If it has ______, then it can _______.”
Examples:
1. All birds can fly. (Counterexample: penguins)
2. If something produces light, then it is a light bulb.
3. If something has stripes, then it is a zebra.
Activity
Star Polygons

Directions:
- The five-pointed star below was made by starting with five evenly spaced points and connecting every two points. We say we’ve used the “connection rule of 2.”
It’s called a star polygon when you hit all the points you started with in one continuous loop.
Pig and Odd Pig Out
Start
Learning situation // Challenge approach
Pig
Odd Pig Out
Goal: The first to 300 wins
- How to play:
- Each player takes turn rolling the dice as many times as they like
- After each roll, they multiply the numbers they rolled together.
- If the product is even, they add that number to their current points for the turn.
- If the product is odd, players lose all their points from that turn and their turn is over.
- A player may choose to end their turn at anytime and “bank” their points.
- Play to 300.
Goal: The first to 50 wins
- In teams of two, each person has one dice.
- Roll the dice and collect points.
- You can go as long as you want, but roll a one and you lose all your points from that turn!
- There will be a lot of winning and losing in this game - remember to be kind to your classmates even when you don’t get the outcome you want.
