Get to know the University of Antioquia
The Museum of the University of Antioquia is a public cultural institution. Its origin is the result of the union of four museums of the University of Antioquia, which today are the four collections of the museum: Visual Arts, Natural Sciences, History of the University, and Anthropology. The MUUA is a space that seeks scientific, cultural and historical dissemination, and offers its visitors an extensive program of events, lectures, workshops and recreational activities. Among these activities, we have permanent, temporary and traveling exhibitions; consultancies related to specific topics of each of the museum's collections; guided tours with prior request for small groups of basic, secondary, higher education and general public. Having more than forty thousand museum objects, it provides students and researchers with reference materials from archaeological research work, this helps and accompanies the training of these people and the creation of new knowledge.

The fountain located in the central square of the University of Antioquia called "El Hombre Creador de Energía" is an exceptional work because: its large size of approximately 7 meters, its visual impact and strategic location surrounded by academic buildings, and the reflection about the relationship of man and energy. It was created by the Colombian sculptor Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt in 1968 with materials such as bronze and concrete. This artwork allows you to enjoy art and learn about its history and meaning. Its presence is essential during cultural activities on campus. It is a very good option to go to this place to rest because there are many green areas and benches to enjoy the view. Additionally being photographed with this great architectural feat is an unmissable event if you visit the University of Antioquia.

The morphology labs building of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Antioquia (UdeA) was built at the end of the 1920s, its name is due to Andrés Posada Arango (APA), a famous doctor and professor at the Faculty. The APA building is recognized as a cultural heritage for its Belgian architecture, it is located in front of Parque de la Vida, between Calles 62 and 63. Together with the Manuel Uribe Ángel building, the square and the central building form block 32 of the UdeA. Its stairs are made with a special symmetry, which forms a hexagonal spiral. Inside the building there are simulation laboratories of the Faculty of Medicine, in which students practice with simulators: microsurgery, childbirth, first aid, among many others, which contribute to the knowledge of the students. There, they also do morphology and anatomy practices with cadavers; meetings and master classes in the auditorium; In addition, there is a room where you can see an exhibition of antipersonnel mines collected from donations from the military.
