Algeria is the largest country in Africa and is located in North Africa . IT is bordered bu the Meriditerranean Sea to the north,Tunisia and Libya to the east , Niger and Mali to the south ,and Morocco and Mauritania to the west . The geography of Algeria is diverse ,with the Sahara desert covering much of the south and the Atlas Mountains running through the country's center . The northern coast is hilly and has many fertile plains .
