This species lived about 2.5 million years ago and they are from Ethiopia. They first became discovered in 1990, but became a true species and got their name in 1997.
-Brain is 450 cc, similar to other australopithecines - This species was one of the first to make stone tools - may have been 4 ft 7 tall. Australopithecus are thought to have had fast, apelike growth rates, lacking an extended childhood typical of modern humans.
