Now some Information

Killer whales live many years, between 50 and 80 years approximately. Some can live up to 100 years. Killer whales are always on the move and cover long distances. One of the longest recorded distances a group of killer whales has traveled was from Alaska to central California.

The Killer Whale

Killer whales are not whales, They are dolphins. In fact, they are the largest dolphin species in the world.Killer whales can have a layer of blubber up to 12 inches thick, which allows them to store energy and stay warm. Killer whales use echolocation to communicate with each other and detect their prey. They emit sounds that bounce off surfaces and allow them to perceive the shape, movement, and texture of their surroundings. Killer whales are very fast and can swim up to 50 kilometers per hour. They can also jump up to 9 meters out of the water. Killer whales have no natural predators, except for the sperm whale, which can deliver powerful blows with its tail. They feed on a wide variety of animals, including sharks and whales. Killer whales are social creatures that live in pods of about 15 members. They have complex and organized social structures, and care for young together.
