He was a sailor from Italy.In 1492 he wanted to sail west to Asia and the Reyes Católicos decided to support his plan. On the 3rd of August he set off from Huelva. In October 12th. he arrived to the new land. Curiosity: he thought he was in Japan!

They were dependent on their husband or father. They main occupation was to look after the house.
Nobility and clergy. They held important government positions. They didn't pay taxes.
Merchants, craftspeople and peasants. Also the new bankers (bourgeoisie). They pay taxes.

Trade and crafts flourished and, thanks to the voyages to America, new routes were created.
Economy based on crop farming.
Creation of new banks.
CULTURE
There is a new understanding of the world: the humanism.
