Sergej Sergeeviĉ Prokofev è un musicista russo (Soncovka, Ekaterinoslav, 1891 - Mosca 1953). Figura di primo piano del modernismo musicale novecentesco, P. affiancò alla carriera internazionale di pianista quella di compositore, con una ricca produzione che abbraccia ogni genere musicale. Versatile ed eclettico, assimilò in una sintesi originale le conquiste della musica europea e lo spirito della tradizione russa. Fonte: Treccani
