TASK 1 - PREPARATION - INDIVIDUALLY Each of you will be assigned an artist. Look for his/her most appealing paintings. Choose THREE paintings (5 minutes). Student 1 - Vincent Van Gogh - Student 2 - Pablo Picasso - Student 3 - Salvador Dali - Student 4 - Frida Kahlo - Student 5 - Claude Monet - Student 6 - Grant Wood - Student 7 - Edvard Munch - Student 8 - Pieter Bruegel - Student 9 - Henri Matisse - Student 10 - Jackson Pollock (try, if you dare!)

TASK 2 - WORK IN PAIRS After you've already chosen three paintings, ask and answer the following questions: 20 minutes
  1. Who is the artist? What was this artist known for?
  2. What colors are prominent throughout the pieces?
  3. Is the style of the artwork realistic, abstract, or something else?
  4. What is the title of these art pieces?
  5. What is the piece doing? Does it tell a story? Evoke a feeling? Document an event? Present an idea?
  6. If these artwork produced sound, aroma, taste and sensations to our touch what would they be like? Describe them.
  7. What do you think the artist wanted to communicate?
