Born the 18 July 1921 in Cambridge

- Grew up in New Concord (Ohio)

- Studied in Muskingum University

Died the 8 december 2016 in colombus (Ohio)

The astronaut

-Join the NASA the 4 October 1957

-He is the first american who as been in orbit

-He did the first orbit in automatic but he had a technical failure and did the 2 others orbits in manual

But not only

-He was a military and fought against China

- Studied for being a chimist

-He was a democrat senator in Ohio State from 1974 to 1999

to finish

His person appeared in the movie "Hidden Figures", what was depicted of him in the film was his amazing life of astronaut and his feat of being the first american to do an orbit in the space. I n the movie he was a person who respected every people from every ethic group in a time where the USA were in segregation.
