Population: 10 vaquitas left in the wild;Habitat: The northern part of the Gulf of California in Mexico. The unsustainable and illegal fishing practices are the main causes of vaquita's endangerement. In the chinese culture, vaquitas are killed because they believe that it's meat has a healing effect. Vaquitas can't survive in captivity because they need a large area to survive, which is why whe need to protect them.
