I See You ICU
A creative app to help school-aged children become acquainted with hospital equipment
I See You Objectives
Introduction
Why use 'I See You'?
The hospital can be scary for anyone, especially kids. I See You is an app created for children who are unfamiliar with the hospital environment. It is specifically meant for high stress departments, such as the ICU, to help young patients become comfortable with the many medical tools they are surrounded by during their hospital stay
Objectives
How can this app help kids?
- Increase environmental awareness and comfort with hospital rooms
- Decrease stress with unfamiliar medical tools and equipment
- Promote positive interactions with staff as they try to identify different objects
- Increase sense of mastery
- Ease anxiety through play, especially in fast-paced, high intensity departments such as the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, etc.

You found a heart rate monitor!
What does it do? This machine tells the doctors and nurses information about your body. There are a lot of wires connecting to it that help it work. Usually, a small cover gives one of your fingers a hug to connect to the monitor so it knows what's happening in your body!
