Before IWas Born

Originally, My Great-Grandparents were born in Sweden. My Grandfather whose parents lived in Sweden ended up in Ohio. My father's family came from Ohio to Cheshire, CT.

Mother's Side

My family hasn't always been in America because if my grandfather was not in the military at the time to meet my grandmother, I would not have been born. My grandfather was deployed in the Philippines at the time where he met my grandmother and they soon had their first child, my aunt, and moved to Hawaii.

My Mother's Side

My mother was born in America and they eventually lived in Glastonbury and Manchester, CT for a very long time as they still do to this day.

Who Is My Mom?

My mother, Mary Gilbert, is the most important person in my life. I am here today because of her, not only because she is my mother, but because she keeps my spirit alive and makes me live the best of life. From when I was very small, I do not remember a lot, but times were very difficult and she did her best to support me as a small person and to ensure that I will always be happy and have a bright future even if it meant risking some things for herself. I have learned almost everything I know from her because she is a very inspiring person to me personally as well as how to live in a world such as this and what I may need to do to ensure that I can still be happy in life even if it is difficult for the both of us sometimes.

Adjusting To Family

I have a stepmother, stepfather, stepbrother (22?), half sister (2), and half brother (1).

I have adjusted to them being apart of my family because I have lived with them for so long and I have been able to be with them for so long to alos become apart of their lives.

Before I was born, my grandmother was a model. After I was born, she turned into a role model.

The Early Years

Divorce

I had to go through a couple of divorces in my lifetime that affected me, but I don’t seem to react to it so much since this is my normal. Throughout my whole life, I was truly unable to comprehend how people did not have divorced parents and how they were able to live in one household.

Fears

I was afraid of monsters when I was little like many other children, but this also scared me in my future because I truly believed these creatres existed. What made matters worse is I also had bad sleep paralyssis, but I have since been able to prevent it.

Some hobbies I had was hand knitting and sewing. I still knit/crochet and sew to this day.

Another hobby I had was collecting bottles to turn in for some extra money.

School

The schools I attended were always from the same area of schools, but I was always living in different places.

Likes

I was getting a lot into music when I was yougner by the influence of my mom, and I also liked stuffed animals a lot.

Middle School

Feeling of Middle School

Entering middle school was difficult for many people, including me, and it was definitely a different format than elementary school, which allowed myslef to become independent and explore school differently by allowing myself to put in effort and obtain more knowledge as a student.

At the time, I was involved in Varsity Singers and band.

Close Friends

Most of the close friends I had throughout middle school I am not friends with anymore; however, there are a lot of friends that I have had for a very long time that I am still friends with to this day.

Friendships come and go but not Megan

Dances

Dances and formals were definitely a fun yet awkward experience. I have social anxiety so it was definitely out of my comfort zone, but in middle school I was more extroverted and I had a lot of fun even if looking back on it is a little weird.

Change

As middle school went by...

I was able to start finding myself as high school drew nearer.

I went through a lot of emotions, as any middle schooler does, and I developed extreme anxiety.
