Complemento directo Español A2

Prof. Clara Gómez

Definition

It is the person, animal or thing directly affected by the action of the verb. Ej. María escribe un poema.

How can we identify the DC?

We ask the verb "what?". The answer is the direct complement. ej. Maria escribe un poema. What does she write? a poem. (a poem is then the DC)

We use the DC pronouns to avoid repetition. Let's look at the example. Maria escribe un poema. María lo escribe. Elena lee una revista. Elena la lee.

Pronombres CD

complemento directo de persona

There are some verbs that add an "a" when they refer to people. For example: abrazar a, mirar a, llamar a, visitar a, besar a , escuchar a, querer a, conocer a, etc.
