ReD-X Methodology

FACTUAL is the 7-step framework Red X employs to strategically converge to the root cause of a problem. The Red X method is based on empirical testing, where we "let the parts do the talking" It's developed and refined the testing methods to be simple but impactful. The Red X Toolkit is a full of problem solving assets that not only simple in form but have the statistical rigor to get you impactfull results.

This phase develops a focused definition of the problem. Using Shainin Rolling Top 5 business problems are converted to technical projects

The strategy developed in the Approach phase is executed in the Converge phase. Red X problem solving uses a process of elimination

This phase is unique to the Shainin System. Given a technical project assigned during Focus, the team develops a strategy for "talkig to the parts"

Ensures that full value of the project is realized. The Red X is read across to other processes , as appropriate. The stretegies developed and employed are applied to similar projects. Lessons learned are captured and shared across the organization

Once the identify of the Red X cause has been confirmed, the relationship between the casue and the green Y response must be investigated to determine the options for solving problem

Suspect variables from Converge are confirmed in Test. We often refer to this as taking the Red X to court

Corrective actions are identified and executed; the effectiveness actions is confirmed; and procedures are updated. Saving are evaluated, validated and the project is documented to capture lessons learned
