WHO IS MAHATMA GANDHI?

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also called Mahatma (the big soul), was an indian politic and leader of moviment for freedom and indipendence of India, and foundator of the no-violence movement, a methode of politic fight that refuse any violence.

LIFE

Gandhi was born on 2nd october 1869 in India. When he was 13, he got married, with combined marriage, with a girl called Kastürbā. Together they will have 5 sons. Later he will condemn the combined marriage's use, that he defines cruel. When he was 17 years old, he goes to London to study law. When he returns in India he discovers the death of his mother. He starts his layer experience and after 2 years of work he goes to South Africa for a task.

LIFE

In Southafrica Gandhi enters in direct contact with black person's discrimination, ratial preconception and slavery condition. This situation leaves a mark and he starts reflecting about his popolation condition. He starts to organize some protest to senzibilize and stops oppression to minorance.

LIFE

Definitly came back in 1914, he invites all his followers challening the many ratial laws and be ready to be subjected to persecution without reacting using violence. A thousand of Indian will be whipped, imprisoned and killed in the fight that he will conduct for 7 years. 'Later the methology used in that ocasion will be called: "satyagraha", that means civil disobedience. Gandhi hates violence and thanks to him his ideals will be diffused in all the world.
