Review past perfect
The past perfect tense is used to describe an action that was completed before another past action or point in time. Structure: Positive: subject + had + past participle 1. She had already finished her presentation before the meeting started. Negative: subject + had not (hadn't) + past participle 1. She hadn't eaten breakfast before leaving for work. Interrogative: Had + subject + past participle? 1. Had she finished her work before the deadline?
