What is CAS?

What is CAS?

CAS is one of the three pillars of the IB Diploma Program, which aims to promote knowledge-based learning and personal development outside the traditional academic environment. Under the CAS framework, students engage in activities that foster creativity, physical well-being, and community service. These activities can include artistic projects, sports participation, community volunteering, leadership roles, social service projects, and more. One of the most important things that the student must demonstrate with the different CAS activities is the seven learning outcomes.

Víctor López

Hello, my name is Victor Lopez Rocha and I am an International Baccalaureate (IB) student from class 21-23. I consider myself a responsible and persevering student. I have a great ability to work in a team and help my classmates. My studies are very important to me because of my future. After the IB I intend to do a double degree in law and business, in order to have the freedom to choose my future career.

From the ground to the sky

During my IB program I decided to do a project related to one of my passions: soccer. I am a soccer fanatic and I love to watch it, I always watch all the games of my favorite teams, and one day the physical education teacher proposed me to be in charge of the children's soccer team of my school and I didn't think twice about it. The job was to be the coach for that team, that is to say, to plan the trainings looking for the development of the team, to organize and direct the matches every weekend, etc.

My experience as a manager

Training preparation and game planning is fundamental in soccer, so it was something I worked on a lot.

Coaching a soccer team was harder than I imagined, but in the end we were able to overcome all the obstacles we encountered.
