Book Project Number 8

This book is about Percy Jackson coming to a camp for half-bloods. He meets 2 friends, Hazel and Frank, that take him in and help him. They find out that they have to go on a quest that is doomed to fail. The book is the story of that quest and everything it involves.

I gave this book a 5 out of 5 because of the pace. The book has a good pace and the storyline is amazing. I would recommend this book but I would read all the books beforehand.

This is for Frank because his life is tied to a piece of firewood. His whole life he has been scared of fire because of his life; towards the end, he decides that if it is going to happen it will.

This represents Hazel because she can summon gems. In the start, she didn't tell anyone anything but then she started to trust people.

This represents Percy because he is a son of Posiden who holds a trident. At the beginning of the book, he was confused and just trying to survive but in the end he was thriving and fitting in with Hazel and Frank.

This represents the author's style with the point of view. Throughout the story, we change points of view and find out what the characters think.

The theme of this book was friendship and teamwork. Hazel and Frank were the only ones to talk to Percy when he arrived. Throughout the book, they wouldn't have survived if it wasn't because of teamwork.

Most of this story takes place in Camp Jupiter in San Francisco, California, and Alaska.

This represents a lost sense of purpose because in "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" Navi (the fairy here) helps him find his purpose. Percy Jackson loses his memory and forgets his purpose and where he belongs. He knows he isn't supposed to be there but doesn't know where he is supposed to be. This is a connection to the real world because everyone wants to find their purpose and until then they feel a little lost.

This represents a key quote, “Adult demigods. Demigods who could live without fear, get married, raise a family. Percy couldn’t quite wrap his mind around that. It seemed too good to be true.” This is key because he is hinting that something he is used to is different from that.
