Ben McBain, Shawn O'Brien, Sam Brown, and Cooper Manley have just won their sixth-grade football championship. Now, it is time for the start of basketball. Ben loves to compete in everything he does, and now he has the drive for another championship. However, he hears word from others that there is a new, Skilled basketball player Chase Braggs coming to town. Chase is a point guard same as Ben and it doesn't take long for him to prove to everyone that he's the new top kid in town. On top of that, Chase loves to brag about himself. When Chase and the arch-rival Darby Bears beat Ben and the Rockwell Rams, Chase becomes the new "talk of the town." Now, Ben finds himself in a difficult situation as he has to figure everything out fast because his team's chances of winning the championship are Weakening. The message/meaning in the book is to keep your perspective. You have to work hard, maintain a clean outlook, and not worry about other outside factors in life. There are always going to be new challenges every day in what you do. It is important that you keep yourself together and that you don't lash out (maintain your priorities).
Basketball is a game usually played between two teams of five players each on a rectangular court, mostly indoors. Each team tries to score by tossing the ball through the opponent’s goal, an elevated horizontal hoop, and a net called a basket.
