What is it?
Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California. Apple is the world's largest technology company by revenue, with US$394.3 billion in 2022 revenue.[6] As of March 2023, Apple is the world's biggest company by market capitalization.[7] As of June 2022, Apple is the fourth-largest personal computer vendor by unit sales and the second-largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world. It is one of the Big Five American information technology companies, alongside Alphabet, Amazon, Meta Platforms, and Microsoft. Apple was founded as Apple Computer Company on April 1, 1976, by Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne to develop and sell Wozniak's Apple I personal computer. It was incorporated by Jobs and Wozniak as Apple Computer, Inc. in 1977. The company's second computer, the Apple II, became a best seller and one of the first mass-produced microcomputers.

Apple today announced its plan to neutralize the carbon footprint at every level of the company, supply chain and lifecycle of its products by 2030. Already today, all of its offices around the world are zero emissions, and with this new commitment every Apple product sold will have zero impact on the climate by 2030.

More and more fuel efficiency
More and more energy efficiency: Apple will identify new ways to reduce energy consumption in its facilities and help the supply chain do the same. Through a partnership with Apple, the US and China Green Fund will invest $100 million in accelerated energy efficiency projects for Apple suppliers. The plants of suppliers participating in Apple’s Energy Efficiency Program rose to 92 in 2019, and in a year have reduced greenhouse gas emissions generated by the supply chain by over 779,000 tons.
CONCLUSIONS
Renewable energy: in terms of business operations, Apple will remain a company 100% powered by renewable energy, and will continue to create new plants and support the transition of the entire supply chain to clean energy. More than 70 suppliers have already committed to using only renewable energy for Apple production, for a total of 8 gigawatts of plants that will power the manufacture of its products. Once completed, these plants will avoid the production of more than 14.3 million tons of CO2e on an annual basis: as if every year more than 3 million cars were taken off the roads.
