WHAT IS ''THE EXPLORATORIUM" ABOUT?
It is dedicated to the science of learning, fills a former waterfront pier with hundreds of innovative exhibits and demonstrations.
WHAT CAN WE DO THERE?
We can learn about sound waves, to play with prisms, figur out magic tricks, and learn how fog is formed.
WHAT IT HAVE MORE?
The fun continues outside, too, with assorted free exhibits, like stationary bikes that help teach about energy and unusual climbing structures in fantastical shapes. And don’t miss the all-glass observation cube at the very tip of the pier.
Quite amazing. I went Thursday night for the glow special. I hardly had time to read and experience them all...eventhough I got 4 hours. You also have an indoor bar and restaurant .
As a physicist who is very into teaching and using demonstrations to illustrate how the Universe works, there is no other museum I have been to that captures the fun of physics better than the Exploratorium.
Overall I think it's a good option for families. The concept of showing how things work thru experience and machines is really cool.
There were a lot of younger children around the museum, but it felt better suited for elementary ages and up.
Cool stuff but way too many people. Lots of waiting to check out the different exhibits.
