Weak Strategy / Strong Culture: You don’t know what to do, but you know how to do it. In other words, you’re very good at doing the wrong things — like offering products and services that nobody wants. If you find yourself in this position, you need to start making the right products for the right markets — pronto!

Weak Strategy / Weak Culture: You don’t know what to do and you don’t know how to do it. A really bad place to be — bankruptcy is just around the corner if you can’t improve both the “what” and the “how” of the business immediately. Avoid this position like the plague!

Strong Strategy / Weak Culture: You know what to do but you don’t know how or you’re not so good at doing it. You’ve picked the right products and the right markets, but your operating culture and practices are too weak to achieve your strategy. You need to start focusing on and strengthen things operationally to improve and grow your business.
