Intorduction to AVID

Advancement Via Individual Determination

Academics with Purpose

AVID is a program which is done during school hours. This is an academic support program which supports grades K-12. Its purpose is to prepare students for college success and career readiness. While using a planner and binder, this program helps students become more organized. AVID urges middle-level thinkers to move to use higher-level thinking questions, while developing college-level writing skills (AVID, 2023).

The goal is to create ambitious standards for learning, hold students accountable to these standards, provide academic support, and help prepare students for a future towards college life. All the while, they are rising to the occasion of academic achievements and excellence (AVID, 2023).
