This is the technology's century, and they are here to help us.
Technology has an important job helping us fighting the climate change, and also help us making the world a better place. Some scientists are developing, for example, ways to replace plastic with something that can become fish's food.
How can they help us?
TECHNOLOGIES
There are some technologies which can help us, but, since they're pretty recent, they aren't affordable. Some of them promise fake things, that way we won't know when we can trust them and believe they do what they promise.
02. Technologies
The ocean cleanupOne 20-year-old was fed up with the trash, so he started The Ocean Cleanup, which uses long floating barriers that work with ocean currents to passively collect the trash. Because most of the current flows underneath, and the plastic floats at the top, this technology prevents the bycatch of unwanted fish and other marine species. And, the platforms anchored to the seabed that are connected to the floating barriers are designed for large-scale deployments, cover millions of square miles without moving. The pilot deployment in coastal waters will start this year or in 2016, and the barrier will be 2000 meters long.

More people using digital devices for communicating and storing information means that there is less reliance on paper, which reduces deforestation. Since trees are an important source of oxygen and also absorb carbon dioxide, this further reduces climate change.
