Gender equality is not a privilege.
WOMEN
RIGHTS
Women’s rights are human rights that concern gender equality, access to education, health and employment, freedom of choice and expression, as well as protection against violence and gender discrimination. Despite the progress of recent decades, women in many parts of the world continue to be victims of discrimination and violations of their human rights. This includes domestic violence, sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation and lack of access to medical care. The fight for women’s rights is a global problem that requires the commitment of all to achieve gender equality and to ensure that every woman has the opportunity to realise her potential without obstacles or gender discrimination.
