I played tennis as a kid. I have always been a big fan of racquet sports, but I grew older and started to play other sports like football and basketball. But has inspired me to start playing another raquet sport, which is padel, I satrted playing padel. I am so grateful to have been given this excuse to pick up a sport that I have come to love, and it has taught me that I should no longer put off getting back into things and activities that I once enjoyed. Additionally, the ability to do this with a close friend I found extremely beneficial. Instead of having to appear at the sessions by myself and throwing myself into the deep end, I was able to participate with a close friend. We motivated each other mutually and pushed each other to improve, showing me the importance of teamwork even when there is no literal team at play.

Embarking on the CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) journey within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program was met with excitement and commitment. The prospect of engaging in diverse activities, contributing to the community, and fostering personal development ignited a sense of enthusiasm among peers and myself. The anticipation of new challenges and opportunities to grow beyond the academic environment filled me with determination and eagerness. As I reflect on the culmination of 18 months of this journey, I am compelled to acknowledge the transformative impact it has had on my life. Throughout the course of CAS, I found myself increasingly inclined towards embracing new experiences and stepping out of my comfort zone. This newfound courage translated into various aspects of my life, from experimenting with cooking recipes to exploring unfamiliar sports. Initially, the thought of trying something new would evoke a sense of apprehension and doubt. However, as I allowed myself to take risks and push beyond the boundaries of familiarity, I discovered a profound sense of liberation and empowerment. One of the most memorable experiences was diving into the world of culinary arts. Cooking had always been a hobby, but CAS encouraged me to take it more seriously and try complex recipes from different cultures. I vividly remember the first time I attempted to make sushi. The process was meticulous and required precision, something I was initially nervous about. Yet, the end result was not just a delicious meal but also a boost in my confidence. Similarly, trying new sports like rock climbing and paddleboarding pushed me to confront my physical limits and fears. These activities not only improved my physical fitness but also taught me valuable lessons about perseverance and resilience. One of the defining moments of my CAS journey was the opportunity to engage in a meaningful project with the association Aspandem, working alongside incapacitated individuals. This experience not only broadened my perspective on societal issues but also deepened my understanding of the importance of integrity and social responsibility. As I immersed myself in the project, I was confronted with the harsh realities faced by individuals with disabilities, prompting me to reflect on my own privilege and the role I can play in effecting positive change. Working with Aspandem involved organizing activities, assisting in daily tasks, and simply being a companion to those in need. Each interaction was a lesson in patience, empathy, and humility. Witnessing the daily struggles and triumphs of these individuals inspired me to adopt a more principled approach in my actions. I realized the power of small acts of kindness and the significant impact they can have on someone’s life. This experience also underscored the importance of advocating for inclusive practices and supporting marginalized communities. Similarly, my role as a tennis trainer for children provided me with invaluable opportunities to impart knowledge, foster teamwork, and instill values of discipline and respect. Working with young children required a different set of skills, particularly in communication and patience. Teaching them the basics of tennis and watching their skills improve over time was incredibly rewarding. It taught me the importance of nurturing young minds and the responsibility we have to guide the next generation. By leading by example and embodying the principles of fairness and inclusivity, I endeavored to create a supportive environment where each participant felt valued and empowered to reach their full potential. As I navigated through the various components of CAS, I found myself constantly challenged to think critically and reflect on my experiences. Whether it was managing multiple commitments or refining organizational skills, each obstacle presented an opportunity for growth. At times, the overwhelming demands of academic and extracurricular responsibilities would test my resilience and determination. However, through introspection and self-assessment, I learned to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance my time management and organizational capabilities. One significant challenge was balancing my CAS activities with academic pressures. Initially, I struggled to keep up with the demands of both, often feeling overwhelmed and stressed. However, I gradually learned the importance of effective time management. I started using planners and digital tools to organize my schedule, prioritize tasks, and set realistic goals. This approach not only helped me manage my time better but also reduced stress and improved my overall productivity. Furthermore, the process of continuous reflection allowed me to understand my strengths and weaknesses better. I realized that my tendency to procrastinate was a significant hurdle in achieving my goals. By acknowledging this issue, I was able to implement strategies to overcome it, such as breaking tasks into smaller, manageable steps and setting specific deadlines. This self-awareness and proactive approach to problem-solving have been invaluable lessons that I will carry forward in all aspects of my life. In conclusion, the journey through 18 months of CAS in the IB Program has been nothing short of transformative. From the initial excitement and enthusiasm to the profound lessons learned along the way, every moment has contributed to my growth and development as an individual. Through embracing new experiences, adopting a principled approach, and honing critical thinking skills, I have emerged more resilient, compassionate, and self-aware. As I embark on the next chapter of my academic and personal journey, I carry with me the invaluable lessons and experiences gained from this enriching endeavor. While the path ahead may be fraught with challenges and uncertainties, I am confident in my ability to navigate through them with courage, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to continuous growth and self-improvement. The CAS journey has equipped me with the tools to face future challenges head-on, armed with the knowledge that every obstacle is an opportunity for growth. As I bid farewell to CAS and look forward to the adventures that lie ahead, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities, friendships, and memories that have shaped me into the person I am today. The lessons learned and the experiences gained will continue to inspire and guide me as I strive to make a positive impact in the world.

In my CAS position, I work with an organization that provides support to children with Down syndrome and cerebral palsy. The mission of the program involves children's participation in four fun interactive games: prepare for a mojito party, make and release paper airplanes, decorate the room with Halloween decorations, and prevent the eggs from seeing that they may be attracted to the balcony.During the Mojito Party, we learned the importance of empathy for children with Down syndrome and cerebral palsy. Experiencing the challenge of squeezing a lemon and smelling the scent of fresh mint is new and exciting for the people. This work also teaches us patience and direction at times. We found that by breaking the mojito process into simple, manageable steps, people can follow the process more easily and enjoy the game. Watching their happiness and satisfaction as they prepare their drinks is incredibly rewarding and shows the importance of encouraging children to complete tasks independently. female gender. Ensuring that every child feels comfortable and confident in their abilities requires compassion and flexibility for each child's unique needs. Mojito parties not only provide a fun, interactive experience, but also promote a sense of community and belonging. We learn to communicate effectively and show folding techniques to people with different abilities. This should be explained clearly, concisely and often with a helping hand. The event is a powerful reminder of the impact of simple, interactive work on encouraging learning and engagement. Watching people’s faces light up as their plane takes off is a testament to the joy and satisfaction that comes with creating and making something happen. female gender. Each person’s plane is unique and reflects their own style and creativity. Celebrating these differences and achievements creates a sense of well-being and support, no matter how far the plane flies. It teaches the value of recognizing and appreciating all people’s efforts and creativity. We learn to value their unique ideas and thoughts, which often make things more beautiful and powerful than we expected. This activity highlights the importance of collaboration and collaboration as we work together to transform a room into a celebration venue. It supports the idea that the process is as important as the end product and that children are happy to participate. This integration makes everyone feel valued and included, thus increasing their sense of self and self-worth. We learned to guide children through counseling and try different egg prevention strategies. This activity encourages creative thinking and practical use of physical principles. This shows us the value of trying and learning from failure because not all eggs survive the fall. This challenge encourages patience and perseverance in children who quickly move on to new ideas and strategies when their first attempts don't work. female gender. We emphasize that failure is part of the learning process and an opportunity to improve. One of our main challenges is to convey the lessons clearly and easily so that all children can understand them. We overcome this problem by using visual aids, demonstrations, and breaking tasks into small, manageable steps. For example, in paper plane work, we use large line drawings to explain each folding step. Ensuring that every child feels supported and understood requires patience and flexibility. We also rely on nonverbal communication, such as gestures and expressions, to reinforce our message and support. To solve this problem, we include a variety of audio and interactive effects in every project. For example, a mojito party includes taste and smell, while a plane ticket includes outdoor activities that will keep children interested and happy. We maintain their motivation and satisfaction with positive supports such as praise and rewards. Some children are disappointed when the egg breaks. We identify their mistakes, encourage them to try again using different strategies and turn this into learning. This method will help develop the desire to grow and become stronger. Participating in this CAS project is a great experience and brings great benefit to our lives. He taught us important lessons about the importance of understanding, patience and teamwork.
